The Centre is managed by the CDR Group, a computer applications company specialising in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), who use the main building on the site as their Head Office. In addition to providing computer solutions to their nation-wide customer base, they offer a management and administrative service to the unit holders and local community.
Eccles House Telebusiness Centre operates from the old Eccles House Farm, a grade II listed site comprising a large farmhouse and a number of outbuildings. Its use as a Telebusiness Centre was the brainchild of the Peak Park Trust, after the site was donated to them by Blue Circle Cement. The Peak Park Trust recognised the potential and benefits to the community of using the site as an economic development initiative in order to help small, young businesses establish themselves and thus regenerate the local economy.
With the assistance of a variety of grants, donations, and loans, the Peak Park Trust was able to undertake the restoration and conversion work required, and the site was opened for business in February 1992.
The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for public and company holidays.
The farmhouse forms the nucleus of the Centre, housing the Centre’s administration and business support services, together with a PC training suite.
The outbuildings were converted to provide 12 excellent office or workshop units ranging from 179 sq. ft to 880 sq. ft in area. These offer ideal serviced accommodation on a monthly licence basis for "start up" and young businesses, the self-employed, and other professionals, all of whom can benefit from the combination of contemporary business support services in an inspirational setting. The high quality specification of the offices and services assures a first class image for each business.
